Kia plans to invest about 3 trillion won through 2029, centered on Autoland Gwangju, to support its transition to future vehicles. Yonhap reported that Kia signed a memorandum of understanding with local government and university partners on November 6 to cooperate on purpose-built vehicle (PBV) technology demonstrations and commercialization. Planned cooperation includes demand-responsive transport vehicles, autonomous PBV shuttles and remote-driving technology for accessible vehicles.
