Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi told a lower-house financial affairs committee on November 6 that she intends to use profits from the Bank of Japan's ETF sales to fund policy projects. She proposed directing the proceeds to a new special account for economically significant security-related projects and other priorities. Takaichi also said the account would issue bridge bonds, with future ETF sale profits earmarked for repayment, to provide funding in advance.
