Singapore would need infrastructure review to meet proposed COP31 electrification goal, Fu says

Singapore’s environment minister Grace Fu said meeting a proposed COP31 electrification target would require closer scrutiny of the country’s energy infrastructure. She called the goal “workable and pragmatic” and said the government would support it where possible. Summit organizers want countries to commit to increasing electricity’s share of global final energy demand to 35% by 2035, from about 20% today.
