UK grid operator issues precautionary power margin notice amid low wind

Britain’s National Energy System Operator warned that electricity supplies may be tight on Monday morning, forecasting a supply margin shortfall of about 1.4 gigawatts during the morning peak and asking the market for additional power. A spokesman said low wind prompted the Electricity Margin Notice and stressed that it was a precautionary measure, not a warning of power cuts.
