US manufacturing adds 19,000 jobs in October, extending gains to five months
US manufacturing employment rose by 19,000 jobs in October, its third-largest monthly increase since November 2023. The gain extended the sector’s growth streak to five months, the longest since 2022, with 86,000 jobs added over that period. Total manufacturing employment reached 12.68 million, its highest since December 2024, but remained 222,000 jobs below its January 2023 level.
