Syria preparing to send fighters to Saudi Arabia, officials say
Syria is preparing to send fighters to Saudi Arabia for border deployment and potential combat against Yemen’s Houthis, three officials familiar with the plans said anonymously. One Syrian official said about 600 special forces fighters were expected to deploy in the coming week. The officials said Syrian military advisers were already in Saudi Arabia, but no fighters had been sent to Yemen. Saudi officials did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
