Pakistan raises youth business and agriculture loan ceiling to Rs25 million
Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif raised the individual loan ceiling under Pakistan’s youth business and agriculture loan schemes from Rs7.5 million to Rs25 million, with repayment in easy instalments. He also directed that 30% of loans be allocated to women and that the minimum borrowing age be lowered from 21 to 18. A briefing estimated lending of Rs292 billion to 266,700 young people during 2026–27.
