Parliamentary health spokesman urges suppliers to deny medicines to central bank leaders
Eshaghi, spokesman for parliament’s health commission, urged pharmacies and other essential-goods suppliers to refuse medicines, health supplies and basic goods to the central bank governor and its foreign-exchange deputy, saying the public should take priority during shortages. His call followed the central bank’s response to importers’ protests that providing preferential foreign exchange at 28,500 tomans was a government obligation and the bank was responsible only for implementation.
