Deadline extended for exporters to use foreign-currency proceeds for essential imports

The deadline for using export proceeds to finance imports of essential goods and production-line supplies has been extended to 29 Esfand 1405 in the Persian calendar. Exporters who applied to import these goods with customs declarations dated no later than 9 Khordad 1405 may qualify, subject to regulations. After the 15-month foreign-currency obligation period expires, exporters must pay 5% of the rial value of unmet obligations before registering export permits as a funding source; obligations linked to overdue permits are excluded from tax incentives and exemptions.
