US military announces 20-member task force targeting land routes into Iran
The US military announced plans to create a 20-member task force to identify ways to disrupt land routes into Iran that it says carry weapons and illicit materials. US Central Command chief Brad Cooper said the effort would constrain Iran’s ability to finance terrorism, rebuild weapons factories and replenish its military. Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps said the initiative would fail and would not cause economic collapse.
