Thailand drafts measures targeting 5–10% reduction in PM2.5 levels in 2027
Thailand’s Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment has drafted measures targeting a 5–10% reduction in average PM2.5 levels in 2027 compared with 2026, through tighter controls on burning, polluting vehicles and factories. The package includes fire monitoring across 14 high-risk forest complexes, cross-border haze cooperation and protection for vulnerable groups. It received agreement in principle at a preparatory meeting and will go to the National Environment Board and Cabinet for consideration.
