Tehran refinery says safety flaring caused thick smoke, denies fire or fuel production disruption
Tehran oil refinery said electrical and technical problems prompted activation of its flare systems as a safety measure after thick smoke was observed on Sunday morning. The refinery’s public relations office attributed the smoke to emergency gas venting and said no fire had occurred in its processing units. It said operational teams had the situation under control, normalization was underway and fuel production remained uninterrupted.
