China’s energy investment is forecast to reach $940 billion in 2026, the world’s largest total, in the Global Energy Transition Report (2026) released by the China Enterprise Reform and Development Society. Separately, the International Energy Agency forecasts Chinese grid investment of about $140 billion this year, as energy spending increasingly targets infrastructure supporting renewable power integration.
