Thai feed manufacturers urge clarity on 2027 wheat and maize import rules
Thailand’s animal feed manufacturers are urging the government to finalise wheat and feed maize import rules for 2027, warning that further delays could cause shortages, disrupt production and raise costs. Feed mills are drawing on reserve stocks as domestic maize deliveries decline despite the harvest season, while imports require three to six months of planning. Some manufacturers have already placed wheat orders for January 2027 without certainty over the new arrangements.
