Thailand reviews draft agreement for Bangkok Green Line management handover
Thailand’s Office of the Attorney General is reviewing a draft agreement to transfer management of Bangkok’s Green Line railway from the city administration to the Mass Rapid Transit Authority of Thailand. The handover is scheduled for January 2027 and would end city subsidies for the line’s extensions, projected at about THB5.7 billion this year. The wider reform aims to introduce THB17–45 fares per journey, remove duplicate entry charges and support common ticketing and fares across urban rail lines.
