Thailand prepares vehicle subsidy proposals using about THB12 billion in loans
Thailand’s Excise Department is preparing to propose two vehicle subsidy schemes using about THB12 billion in loans to reduce air pollution and carbon emissions. One would offer about THB40,000 per vehicle to replace around 150,000 old vehicles with electric pickups or pickups compatible with B20 diesel. The other would subsidise purchases of hundreds of thousands of Thailand-made electric motorcycles without requiring a trade-in.
