Lagarde warns persistent high inflation poses risks to ECB’s medium-term target
European Central Bank President Christine Lagarde said euro-area inflation would remain high in the coming months and warned that a prolonged period at these levels would increase risks to achieving the bank’s medium-term target. She added that secondary inflation effects, including demands for wage increases, had so far not been worse than expected.
