Berkshire posts record $9.6 billion in quarterly buybacks; October pace slows
Berkshire Hathaway disclosed record third-quarter share repurchases of $9.6 billion, surpassing the previous quarterly high of $9 billion in late 2020. Repurchases slowed to an estimated $2 billion in October as its share price rose, based on the share count in its quarterly filing. After-tax operating earnings, adjusted for one-time noncash currency losses, were calculated at $13 billion, down less than 1% year over year.
