Israel’s president chooses Gadi Eisenkot to form government
Israel’s President Isaac Herzog has decided to task Yashar party chairman Gadi Eisenkot with forming a government, the president’s office said. Factions representing 67 Knesset members recommended Eisenkot, while 46 backed Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and seven recommended no one. The office said Eisenkot was invited to a mandate-conferral ceremony on November 8 at 17:00.
