South Korea's financial regulator seeks larger budget for inclusive lending programs

South Korea's Financial Services Commission has asked parliament to increase funding for lending programs supporting vulnerable borrowers. Its proposals include an additional 245.5 billion won for interest refunds under Sunshine Loan special guarantees, 31.5 billion won in new interest subsidies for Jinggeomdari loans, and an additional 100 billion won for K-livelihood protection loans. The increases remain uncertain, with the parliamentary budget subcommittee scheduled to review the commission's budget on November 10–11.
