South Korea prepares digital-asset bill, with exchange ownership transition period likely

South Korea’s Financial Services Commission is preparing to unveil a government digital-asset bill in November, with a senior regulatory official saying the aim is to have it introduced this month. The proposal is expected to allow exchanges a transition period to meet major-shareholder ownership limits and favor bank-centered consortiums as stablecoin issuers. The provisions could change during National Assembly deliberations.
