Agriculture official says model-farm program could raise output to 150 million tons
The deputy for education and extension at the Agricultural Research, Education and Extension Organization said agricultural output could rise from the current 137 million tons to 150 million tons if 20% of model-farm plans are implemented. The official described expanding model farms and private-sector participation as a self-sufficiency strategy aimed at narrowing the productivity gap between leading and average farms.
