Polish finance minister blames presidential vetoes for contributing to S&P outlook cut

Polish Finance Minister Andrzej Domanski blamed President Karol Nawrocki’s legislative vetoes for contributing to S&P’s decision to lower Poland’s credit outlook. He pledged to continue efforts to strengthen public finances despite the vetoes. S&P lowered the outlook on Poland’s A- investment-grade rating to negative from stable, citing elevated deficits and rising government debt, and said presidential veto powers were constraining fiscal consolidation.
