Eurozone ministers receive two nominations to succeed ECB chief Lagarde
Eurozone finance ministers said Friday they had received two nominations to succeed Christine Lagarde as European Central Bank chief: Spain’s Pablo Hernandez de Cos and Klaas Knot from the Netherlands. Lagarde is stepping down in February. The Eurogroup will consider the candidates Monday, with European Union leaders making the final choice after consulting the European Parliament and the ECB’s governing council.
