AST SpaceMobile announces Blacklift rocket and $1.3 billion Firefly engine deal
AST SpaceMobile announced it is building its own rocket, Blacklift, with Firefly Aerospace supplying 36 engines under an initial $1.3 billion deal. AST said the rocket is designed to be reusable, is planned to be ready for launches starting in 2028 and will be capable of carrying up to five of its BlueBird satellites per flight.
