Resona group banks disclose leak of 5,935 card-loan customer records
Resona Bank, Kansai Mirai Bank and Minato Bank announced that 5,935 card-loan customer records had leaked, attributing the breach to unauthorized access to guarantee partner SMBC Consumer Finance’s systems. The records included former borrowers’ addresses, annual incomes, guarantee amounts and email addresses. SMBC Consumer Finance suspended its guarantee system for an investigation; the three banks continue accepting new loan applications through other guarantee companies.
