US private payrolls rise 159,000 in October, above 65,000 estimate
US private payrolls rose by 159,000 in October, exceeding the 65,000 estimate, while manufacturing payrolls increased by 19,000 versus an estimated 7,000. Government payrolls grew by 6,000, and the two-month net payroll revision was positive 84,000. Labor force participation rose to 61.9% from 61.8%, while underemployment increased to 7.9% from 7.6%.
