Sweden Democrats drop demand for cabinet posts amid government-formation deadlock

The far-right Sweden Democrats said they were dropping demands for ministerial posts. Party leader Jimmie Akesson said the party would remain outside government for the next four years and was prepared to tolerate a centre-right cabinet. The Centre Party still favours Social Democrats leader Magdalena Andersson as prime minister, with no indication so far that it will support a government led by Ulf Kristersson.
