France raises 2026 wine output forecast to 36.7 million hectolitres
France’s farm ministry raised its 2026 wine production forecast to 36.7 million hectolitres from 34.9 million estimated in October, after yields exceeded expectations in several major regions. The revised estimate is 3% above the weak 2025 harvest but remains 10% below the 2021–2025 average. The upward revision mainly reflected better-than-expected yields in Languedoc-Roussillon and Charentes, as well as Champagne and the South-East.
