Spain orders producers to hold back 12% of olive oil output to stabilise market

Spain ordered olive oil producers to store 12% of their 2026/27 production until September 30, 2027, a measure that would remove 188,000 tonnes from the market. The Agriculture Ministry said the aim was to regulate supply and stabilise the market. It estimates seasonal production at 1.6 million tonnes, 23% above last season.
