Nippon Paper abandons restart of paper and pulp production at Yatsushiro mill
Nippon Paper announced it would not resume paper and pulp production at its Yatsushiro mill in Japan’s Kumamoto Prefecture. The mill suffered severe damage in a July earthquake. Governor Takashi Kimura welcomed the company’s stated commitment not to withdraw from the site and said the prefecture would support planning for the mill’s revival.
