U.S. agencies issue cyber alert over industrial refrigeration controls
U.S. federal agencies have issued a joint alert about an ongoing cyber threat to industrial refrigeration after hacking affected more than 100 stores across Europe. Hackers are targeting internet-connected controls at grocery stores and cold-storage sites, where temperature changes could cause stock losses and fire hazards. The agencies urged refrigeration operators to assume they could be targeted, disconnect controllers from the public internet, isolate them from corporate networks and promptly update software.
