Lee Jae-myung nominates defense procurement chief Lee Yong-cheol as justice minister

President Lee Jae-myung nominated Defense Acquisition Program Administration chief Lee Yong-cheol as justice minister on November 6. The nomination came 48 days after the previous nominee's bid fell through. The opposition People Power Party raised allegations linking Lee Yong-cheol to the Daejang-dong case; presidential chief of staff Lim Kwang-hyun said the matter had been considered during vetting and that the nominee would explain it at his confirmation hearing.
