IAEA experts identify strengths and areas for improvement in Russia’s nuclear safety regulation
An IAEA expert team said Russia has a capable and independent nuclear and radiation safety regulator, with mature systems for nuclear regulation and promoting a strong safety culture. The team also identified areas for improvement, including coordination among regulatory authorities, workforce planning and training, to enhance the regulatory system’s overall effectiveness.
