South Korea outlines agrivoltaic safeguards ahead of December law launch

South Korean Agriculture Minister Song Mi-ryung said agrivoltaics could supplement farm income at a November 6 event in Cheongju ahead of a law taking effect on December 17. The ministry plans to allow projects mainly outside agricultural promotion areas, with exceptions for renewable-energy districts, and require continued farming on at least 80% of project land. It also plans to channel some electricity-generation revenue into community funds supporting energy welfare, cooperative farming and young farmers.
