Thailand plans Cabinet submission of draft data centre rules on November 10

Thailand’s Finance Ministry plans to submit draft data centre rules to the Cabinet on November 10, 2026, to attract AI investment while protecting resources and social interests. The proposal would classify facilities into seven electricity-use tiers, impose tougher standards on larger centres and consolidate approval and permit records on one dashboard. The 63 operating centres and 20 under construction would have 8–12 months to meet environmental standards; the first of more than 100 pending projects could be approved as early as December.
