South Korean labor talks review housing and training support for proposed special zones

South Korea’s labor ministry said it briefed labor and business representatives on housing, education and workforce-training support for proposed mega-regional special zones at their seventh working-level meeting on November 6. The next meeting, scheduled for November 13, is expected to begin discussing contentious labor provisions, including exemptions from the 52-hour workweek for high-income and R&D workers and extending the maximum fixed-term employment period to four years.
