Millennium and XPeng assess potential Thai factory after 35% EV import tax announcement
Millennium Group Corporation (Asia), which distributes XPeng vehicles in Thailand, said it is studying a potential factory with the Chinese automaker after the government announced a 35% excise tax on imported EVs. The assessment covers commercial viability, production volumes, local suppliers and local-content requirements. Under the new tax structure, locally made EVs would face lower rates depending on domestic sourcing.
