Malaysia’s Umno says it paid Najib’s US$12.3 million fine required for house arrest
Malaysia’s Umno said it had completed payment of former prime minister Najib Razak’s 50 million ringgit (US$12.3 million) fine at the Kuala Lumpur High Court after a public fundraising campaign reached its target. The payment was a condition of a royal pardon allowing him to serve the remainder of his corruption sentence at home until August 2028. The timing of his transfer from prison to house arrest remained unclear.
