Japan's October passenger EV sales rise 2.5-fold to record for the month

Japan's passenger electric vehicle sales, including kei cars, rose to 14,644 in October, 2.5 times the year-earlier level and a record for October, industry associations announced on November 6. EVs accounted for 4.6% of new-car sales. Toyota's bZ4X led with 3,142 units, followed by Honda's Super-One with 2,208. Nikkei reported that anticipated exhaustion of government subsidy funding appeared to be prompting buyers to bring forward purchases.
