MetaVia reports liver-fat and weight reductions in interim DA-1726 Phase 1 analysis
MetaVia said an interim Phase 1 analysis of DA-1726 found 68% lower liver fat and 13.5% lower body weight versus placebo at day 109. The analysis included 15 treated adults with obesity and four placebo recipients; average weight loss from baseline in the treatment group was 11.9%. Gastrointestinal adverse events occurred in nine treated participants, including one severe vomiting event, but the company reported no discontinuations due to adverse events. MetaVia plans to release full Phase 1 data in early 2027 and begin Phase 2 in the second half of 2027.
