Health ministry selects five rare-disease drugs for fast-track insurance listing pilot

The Ministry of Health and Welfare announced on November 6 that it had selected five rare-disease medicines for a fast-track health insurance listing pilot. The program shifts cost-effectiveness assessments, normally required before listing, to a post-listing review. The selected medicines must complete listing applications by January 2027 at the latest, after steps including revisions to post-assessment plans and submission of implementation agreements.
