Brazil approves first critical minerals list, giving rare earths and copper top priority
Brazil approved its first list of 27 critical and strategic minerals under a national policy aimed at attracting investment and expanding domestic processing. Rare earths, copper, lithium and uranium are among the top-priority minerals. The government plans to prioritize financing and other support for minerals exposed to greater geopolitical risk and import dependence, while higher-priority minerals will face greater scrutiny in ownership transfers and offtake agreements.
