South Korea proposes broader rules against abuse of market dominance

South Korea’s Fair Trade Commission announced proposed enforcement-decree amendments to broaden rules against abuse of market dominance, with public comment running from November 6 to December 16. The proposal would cover unfair price-setting and price maintenance, including unjustifiably higher domestic prices than overseas prices, and expand prohibited anti-competitive conduct. The commission aims to complete the amendments in the first half of 2027 after reviewing comments and undergoing legislative review.
