Japan protests Russia’s transfer of Japan Tobacco International assets
Japan has protested Russia’s seizure of Japan Tobacco International’s local assets and urged Moscow to revoke the measures, Trade Minister Ryosei Akazawa said Friday. He said two senior Japanese officials currently in Russia lodged the protest. JTI’s Russian units were transferred to local company JSC Industrial Assets under temporary administration, according to a decree signed by President Vladimir Putin and published Thursday.
