Japan orders Chubu Electric to overhaul governance after Hamaoka nuclear data misconduct
Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry issued Chubu Electric a legally binding business-improvement order on November 6 following misconduct including improper seismic data in the Hamaoka nuclear plant restart review. The ministry demanded fundamental organizational reforms and an improvement plan by the end of November. The plan must address executive accountability, stronger compliance and a new management oversight structure.
