Google announces $17 billion Wyoming data center plan using fuel-cell power

Google announced plans to invest $17 billion in a data center in Laramie County, its first in Wyoming. The company said it would cover all electricity costs for the facility. Bloomberg reported that the center would receive some power from a 702-megawatt natural-gas fuel-cell installation using Bloom Energy technology and would use air cooling to limit cooling-water consumption.
