Russia says detained Hokkaido Shimbun reporter's fate depends on FSB investigation
Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Zakharova said at an online briefing on November 5 that the treatment of a Hokkaido Shimbun reporter detained in October on suspicion of espionage in Sakhalin would depend on the FSB investigation's results. The reporter's detention period runs until December 12. Zakharova declined to specify how Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov had responded to Japanese Foreign Minister Toshimitsu Motegi's demand for the reporter's immediate release.
