North Korea condemns FATF decision to retain high-risk designation
North Korea condemned the Financial Action Task Force’s decision to retain it as a high-risk jurisdiction subject to countermeasures as politically motivated. In a statement carried by KCNA, its foreign ministry accused the watchdog of serving US hostility and denied allegations of financial crimes. FATF said on October 30 that North Korea continued to have significant deficiencies in combating money laundering and terrorist financing.
