Schumer vows to block right-wing Supreme Court nominees as Democrats take Senate majority
Senate Democratic leader Chuck Schumer told AP that Democrats would not allow a right-wing Supreme Court nominee to be confirmed, Yonhap reported. The statement followed Democrats winning a Senate majority in the U.S. midterm elections, according to the report. Schumer also said Democrats would block poor nominees for lower courts and cabinet posts, signaling opposition to President Donald Trump's appointments.
